The 5’11, 170 lb. sophomore comes to Albert Lea with a lot of experience despite being so young. The Orlando, Florida native was in the starting rotation last season for the Tritons, he had a record of 3-4 and an ERA of 4.80. He struck out 41 hitters in 50 innings pitched. Robin had an impressive fall only giving up 2 runs in 16 innings pitched. Robin is expected to be in the starting rotation again for the Tritons this season. Robin pitched for the Winter Park Diamond Dawgs in the FCSL last summer.
“Robin is a solid sign for us. He’s a pitcher, not a thrower. He can pump it up there with his fastball a little bit despite his size; but what I like is he doesn’t rely on that. He has 4 pitches and keep hitters off-balanced with his off-speed and ability to use both sides of the plate. I like that he had experience last year in the rotation for Eckerd. He has great arm durability, and is a very intelligent young man. I think his best pitching is ahead of him because of his pitch-ability. Robin is a versatile pitcher too, he’s not a one trick pony. He can pitch as a starter or come out of the bullpen which makes him a great fit for us. He’s a very humble guy and has a super bright future beyond even baseball. He is doing flight training which is just remarkable in my opinion. I’m excited to have him aboard.” – Coach Keeran
Robin’s cousin is big league pitcher Cody Allen from the Cleveland Indians.
