Power hitting left handed hitter Jacob Sanford signs contract to play for the Albert Lea Lakers

He had a fielding percentage of .963 playing 1B and OF for McCook. Jacob is from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia Canada. Jacob will be reuniting with former teammates at McCook and current Laker signees Keanu Van Kuren and CJ Neumann.
“Jacob is a big time sign for us. He has professional type power in his bat. He gives us depth at OF, 1B, 3B, and is a DH option for us as well. He can flat out hit, and he hits some tape measure home runs. I am confident he will contend for the league home run race. If the league had a home run derby I am confident Jacob would win it. He’s going to be in the middle of our order in an RBI spot because of the type of slugging he can do. He will be a regular in our line-up against righties and we will see what he can do against left handers. Jacob is a hard worker with a great frame, he’s got a lot of tools that will project well at the next level. He could pitch too if we needed him too because he’s got a great arm too. Jacob is the cherry on top of a great group of position players we have signed. We have a catcher spot left, but after that we are done recruiting position players which is very exciting. We have a lot of hitters who are great athletes, and quite a few who have plus power. We’re going to be a fun team to watch.”
