Jose is a 6’2 205 lb. sophomore infielder from Pinar del Rio, Cuba. As a freshman Jose hit .320 with 3 HR, 9 2B, 32 RBI and scored 38 runs. He also had 7 stolen bases. Jose only had 6 errors last season with .982 fielding percentage. At Judson high school Jose was a Two-Time First-Team All-District, and Second Team All-District.

“Jose is a big time player who is really going to impact us this summer! I’m extremely excited about signing him, he can really hit. He’s a great athlete who is on a different level than most, I think he has a great chance of playing professionally one day. Jose will play some 3rd base and 1st base for us, I’m sure he could even play some 2B if we wanted to get creative and maximize power in our line-up. He will hit somewhere for us 2-5 and be an impact player. He’s a tough out, and faces quality competition during his college season so I know he will come in and be ready to play. He’s a very motivated and driven young man with pro aspirations so I know he’s going to come to Albert Lea ready to work hard every day.”

Welcome Jose Diaz to the #LakeShow!
